Counselor: Dr. Mashlihatul Umami, S.Pd.I., M.A. Keywords: Jigsaw Technique, Speaking Skills The aim of this study was to determine the profile of students’ speaking skills before and after the use of jigsaw technique, and the effectiveness of using the jigsaw technique to teach speaking skills for the seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan in the academic year 2024/2025. This study used a quantitative, true experimental method. The study was conducted in the seventh grade at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan. The sample included 36 students from class group VII A and 36 students from class group of VII E. Class VII A was the experimental class, which was taught using the jigsaw technique, while class VII E was the control class, which was taught using the lecturing method. This study used random sampling. In this study, several activities were carried out which included: giving a pre-test, implementing treatment, and giving a post-test. The study’s findings revealed that the mean pre-test score, 42,44, was lower than the mean post-test score, 70,94. After using the jigsaw technique to teach the students’ speaking skills, the students’ average score increased to 28,5 points. The T-table of 2,030 is lower than the T-test score of 18,016. In the interval 0,3 ≤ g ≤ 0,7, the experimental group’s N-Gain score is 0,49, indicating a medium level, while the control group’s N-Gain score is 0,28, indicating a low level. Thus, it is evident that there is a significant increase after the use of the jigsaw technique compared to the previous method, namely lecturing method. It can be said that the use of jigsaw technique is effective to teach speaking skills for seventh grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Pabelan in the Academic year 2024/2025.
