Abstract

This research tries to discuss about Kyai Ageng Khasan Besari biography from 1797-1867 M. This research also try to raise about the influence of Kyai Khasan Besari and its role for Tegalsari community and to Surakarta Adiningrat Palace. In this research will also explain how the history of Pondok Pesantren Gebang Tinatar and its condition before and after Kyai Khasan Besari. This study is analytical descriptive and uses four stages of historical method of heuristics, verification, interpretation and historiography. Based on the method the author took a Conclusion that (1) Kyai Khasan Besari is the son of Kyai Muhammad Ilyas Besari and is Pengageng who brought Pondok Pesantren Gebang Tinatar to the top of glory. (2) Kyai Khasan Besari plays an active role in raising cottages and providing education to Tegalsari people. (3) Kyai Khasan Besari in addition to the influence to the public Tegalsari also have influence on Surakarta Adiningrat Sunanate and managed to marry Princess Pakubuwono III is Bra. Murtosiyah.
