Abstract
Self controlling was a psychological condition which affected the formation of other behaviour. Many research concluded that negative and destructive behaviours were rooted from low self controlling. Nowadays, Juvenile delinquency phenomenon was apprehending, tt actually could be reduced if children were skilled with well self controlling from their early childhood. Other research result showed that early childhood had low self controlling even tended to be impulsive, while parents’ way in taking them care and the inappropriateness of teacher-parents collaboration. Based on the background, this research was aimed to developed Colaborative Guidance and Counseling Model to increase early childhood self controlling. Colaborative Guidance and Counseling Model was reference framework that was used in conducting guidance and counseling. It involved the other element who knew well problems faced by children. The research was used Reseach and Development (R & D) approach, involved 27 kindergarten students as subject of research. Collaborator were 3 School principals, 4 teachers and 27 parents as informants. Questionnaires, observations, interview, and tests were used in the technique of collecting the data. The condition of early childhood’s self controlling before the model implemented was low and the collaboration among school principals, teachers and parents was inappropriate. Colaborative Guidance and Counseling Model which was developed through systematic and well-planned expert testing, practical testing and field testing resulted a model that could develop child’s self controlling and improve collaboration among principals, teachers, and parents. Through t-test, it can be concluded that Colaborative Guidance and Counseling Model was effective to develop early childhood self controlling. Based on the result of the study, it was recommended to all Early Childhood Education to implement this model as part of school program and to guidance and counselling teacher in Early Childhood Education could use the gist of this model to improve other aspect of children development. Then, to the next researcher, this model could be adopted to study the other aspect of children development and to correct the research design which was used.
