Abstract

The objectives of the research are to find out the improvimg students’ writing ability on Hortatory exposition text of the eleventh grade of SMAN 1 Suruh in the academic year 2017/2018 through FRESH Technique to find out the increasing of students’ motivation in writing ability. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were two cycles; each cycles comprised planning, implementing action, observing, and reflecting. The technique of collecting data are observation, test and documentation. The results of the reserach shows that pre-test and post-test score is 47.81 to 74.30 in cycle I, the mean of pre-test and post-test is 72.26 to 77.73 in cycle 2. Furthemore, the result of t-test calculation in cycle I is 2.58 and cycle 2 is 8.01. This indicates that by applying FRESH techniqueue provides significant contribution in improving the students’ writing ability.
