Abstract

The objectives of this research are to find out the profile of reading habit, the academic writing mastery and the correlation between both of them among students of International Class Program of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga in the academic year 2017/2018. The methodology of the research was quantitative research in correlative type. The technique of collecting the data is questionnaire and writing test. Questionnaire was used to depict the profile of reading habit and writing test was used to calculate the students’ academic writing mastery. After conducting the research, the writer finds that the level of reading habit among student of International Class Program is in average category. Then, the level of academic writing mastery among students of International Class Program is in very good category. Moreover, the result of data analysis for the correlation between both of reading habit and academic writing mastery that is calculated by SPSS shows that r-calculation is 0.665 which is close to +1.000 and it is in positive side which means give a positive influence. It can be concluded that “ there is a significant correlation between reading habit and academic writing mastery among students of International Class Program in the academic year 2017/2018.
