Abstract

This research aims to improve students’ Understanding on Adjective Phrase on adjective phrase in the grade of 7A of Islamic Junior High School Ar-RahmahSuruh in academic years of 2018/2019. The research found that students’ understanding on adjective phrase is less especially in English subject. To improve students’ understanding on adjective phrase, the researcher applied Make a Match Method. There are two cycles to examine this research. The number of students in this research were 27 students. In completing the research, the researcher used observation and documentation. The result of this research showed that the mean of cycle two was higher than the minimum score that determined by Islamic Junior High School Ar-RahmahSuruh, that is 75. The mean of students’ score in cycle I was 70 and the mean of students’ score in cycle II was 79. Based on the research, it concluded that the application of Make a Match Method was successful to improve students’ understanding on adjective phrase in grade VIIA of Islamic Junior High School Ar-RahmahSuruh in academic years of 2018/2019.
