Abstract

The Use of Who Is Telling the Truth Game to Improve Students’ Speaking Skills (A Classroom Action Research at the Seventh Grade Students of SMP N 2 Salatiga in the Academic Year of 2019/2020). Counselor : Noor Malihah, Ph.D This research was aimed to improve the students’ speaking skills using a game called Who Is Telling the Truth. This research answered 2 questions (1) How is the use of Who Is Telling the Truth game to improve students’ speaking skills for the seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Salatiga? (2) How is the improvement of students’ speaking skills using Who Is Telling the Truth game for the seventh grade students of SMP N 2 Salatiga? This research was a Classroom Action Research. It was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation and reflection. From this research, the researcher concludes that the students’ speaking skills are improved from cycle 1 and cycle 2. The improvement of the study showed when the researcher conducted the cycle 1 and cycle 2. The result of the t-test in cycle 2 is 4.93. The passing grade is 78 and the target of the passing grade is 85%. The outcome of the post-test of cycle 2 is 87.5% from the students. The target of cycle 2 is achieved, so the researcher stopped the research. It means that a Classroom Action Research by using Who Is Telling the Truth game is able to improve the students’ speaking skills. Keywords: Who Is Telling the Truth Game, students’ speaking skills.
