Abstract
ABSTRACT Rizka Alfi Nur Aini. 2019. Analysis Students’ Errors in Writing Language Features of Recount Text of the Tenth Grade Students SMA N 2 Salatiga in the Academic Year 2018/2019. A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Hammam, Ph.D The objectives of this study are to know the type of errors in writing language features especially past tenseof recount text and to know dominant errors are found in writing language features especially past tense of recount text. The method of this research was qualitative research. The subject of this research was 34 students of the tenth grade students of SMA N 2 Salatiga. The techniques of collecting data were writing test and documentation. The technique to analyze data was descriptive analysis technique. The result obtained from this study showed thatthe types of errors in student writing past tense of recount text were omission, addition, misformation, and misordering. From the data, it was also found some errors made by students. The first most type of errors that the students made is misformation with the total error was 84 errors (60.41 %). The second most type of errors was omissionwith the total error was 34 errors (24.50 %). The third most type of errors was addition with the total errors was 14 errors (10.06 %). The last most type of errors was misordering with the total errors was 7 errors (5.03 %). Key Words: Error analysis, writing, recount text.
