Abstract
The research aims to know the students’ ability in identifying passive voice. This research has two objectives, they are 1) To find out the profile of students' ability in identifying passive voicein The Jakarta Post News. 2) To know the students’ understanding of passive voice. This research was conducted at SMK Negeri 1 Ngablak in the academic year 2019/2020, especially in eleventh grade of XI Marketing class. This reaearch was quantitative research. The research population comprised all students of XI Marketing. The sample was all 0f the population. The data were collected by test. The result of the research are as follows 1) Students’ ability in identifying passive voice in The Jakarta Post News is average to good level 60.46 (60-79). 2) Students’ understanding in passive voice is poor level 33.72 (0-49).
