Abstract

Kristy, Arti Novia Tiara. 2019. A Study of English Learners’ Problems and Challenge For Digital Natives. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department.Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor:Noor Malihah, Ph. D. Keywords: Digital Natives; Problem and Challenge; English Learner. This research aims to analyze the problems and challenges which are encountered by English learners for Digital Natives and to find out how Digital Natives overcome the problems and challenges. Those Digital Natives are students of English Education Department, IAIN Salatiga, Academic Year 2017/2018.The methodology of this research was descriptive qualitative. To collect the data used questionnaire and interview. Questionnaire was used to find out the highest level of Digital Natives, while interview section was used to collect the information from participants about the experience, the problems and challenges and how to cope. The results of the research showed that technology can be used as digital tool to learn English more for Digital Natives. It can be seen by the participants’ learning experience. Digital tool assist English learner by overcome their problems and challenges, what are the participants get more in using digital tool and how fun the digital tool make easier for English learners.
