Abstract
This study mainly describes the pragmatic roles in the video of Obama‟s speech in Berlin. The objectives of the study are (1) to know how many utterances of non-literal speech acts occur in the Obama‟s Berlin speech? (2) How the meanings and clarification process of each utterance of non-literal speech acts are occurs in the Obama‟s Berlin speech?. The object of this study was the video of Obama‟s speech in Berlin and its transcript. The findings of this research are following: There were 16 utterances which contains non literal speech act and clarification process in the video of Obama Speech in Berlin.
