Abstract

This thesis are used to know the students difficulties in translating Englishtext into Indonesian, the language factors that influence in translating English textand the solution of difficulties in translating English text.The writer uses descriptive statistical method by describing and explainingthe difficulties faced by students in translating English text into Indonesia ofSTAIN Salatiga in the academic year of 2006-2007. In conducting the study thewriter uses descriptive statistical method and for collecting the data the writer usesquestionnaire. He takes the student of fifth semester academic year 2006/2007 asthe population and takes forty students as the sample. To collect the data, hemakes translation test, from the answer of translation test the writer analyzes thedata.After getting the result, the writer concludes that the student still havedifficulties in translating English text into Indonesia. It can be concluded that thedifficulties are about describing grammar, vocabulary, and process in transferringmessage and also how to get the equivalent meaning.
