Abstract

Recently, Harry Potter is the most famous novel in the word. Therefore, thenovels have been translated into many languages, including in Indonesian. Inaddition, JK. Roding, the author 9/ novel, has created 7 tittles of Harry Potter.Focus on the second book «Harry Potter and the Chamber Secrets" and theIndonesian version "Harry Potter dan kamar rahasia", the writer will compareboth to see the quality of the Indonesian version Furthermore; the writer willanalyze the idiomatic and the equivalent both the English and Indonesian version.The analyze will see how well the translator replace the source language to thetarget language and also what kind of problems occurs in transferring the text.Actually, transferring text into another language is not English version uses dailylanguages that usually western people use. It is r•rnved iii the translation result of"Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", there are many changes from andwords that can be of adapted to Indonesian. Although the culture of western andeastern is different and the problems may occur in transferring the novel intoIndonesian, the w~y the t.ansiator transiaies "Harry Potter dan samar rahasia"has mostly transferred ,...,mm11nio;tively and understandable.
