Abstract

The title of this graduating paper is English Register Used in TelecommunicationArticle Issued by Kompas In May 2010. This study is mainly aimed describing the formsof English register in telecommunication article issued by Kompas in May 2010.The writer uses descriptive qualitative method to find the form and meaning ofthe register by describing and explaining the data taken from telecommunication articleby Kompas. In the conducting the study the writer uses documentation method forcollecting data. Firstly he classifies the English register contained in telecommunicationarticle then he writes down the vocabulary. Technique of analyzing data in this study isby classifying them in the each from, explaining and finding out the original meaning ofeach vocabulary. The study shown that there are three forms of the register; they areword, phrase and abbreviation. Each of word in the article has different meaning eachothers. The main reason people use registers is providing communication more effectiveand efficient.
