Abstract
This study is made to analyze the conversational implicature used in"Salt" movie script. The research problems of the study are the variations ofmeanings of the conversational implicature used in movie script and what arethe reasons of the conversational implicature used in movie script. The studyis expected to be beneficial to the world of literature. In addition, the writerhopes the result of the study will give additional information to the reader andcan contributes to the development of literary study particularly amongstudents who are interested in the literary study. It is a qualitative study thatfocuses on the conversational implicature of the movie. The conversationalimplicature has shown that the way the author use the conversationalimplicature. The author uses many maxims that make the conversation morecolorful meaning. In addition, the results of the study are some maxims usedin this movie, there are cooperative, politeness and ironical principle. In "Salt"movie, the cooperative principle is more dominant than the politeness andironical principle. The author of this story tends to use this principle to clarifyand to make clear these messages.
