Abstract

The aims of this research are 1) to find out the students' writing habits, 2) tofind out the students' grammar achievement, 3) to find out the influence of writinghabits toward grammar achievement. This research is a descriptive-quantitativestudy. The data are collected through 1) test, 2) questionnaire, 3) documentation.Then the collected data are analyzed by product moment correlation formula. Thefindings of this research shows that 1) the profil of the students' writing habits isaverage in general, 2) the level of the students' grammar achievement is high ingeneral, 3) the result of Ixy count is 0, 119. Then, it is compared with r table is 0,334, itrefers that Ixy count is less than r table. Based on the analysis above, the writerconcludes that there is significant correlation between writing habits (X) andgrammar achievement (Y), but it is very weak. Therefore, the writing habits cangive positive influence toward grammar achievement, although it is very little.
