Abstract

This study was in SMPIT Nurul Islam Boarding school Tengaran. It wascomposed to find out the students' the profile of the development of EnglishLanguage vocabulary, the effectiveness of using the tutorial method. Taking 30students as sample of study from all 136 students of the second grade in academic2011/2012. The writer used sources of data, documentation, and observasion incollecting data, and statistic formula as the tool of analyzing data. It shows thatthe students' from tutorial vocabulary activities, get the concluding that the moststudents in 2010/2011 have good category ( 40% ). Then, in the 2011/2012, all ofstudents (100%) are in good category. After analyzed by statistic formula, there isany correlation in the tutorial vocabulary activities and development of Englishlanguage vocabulary, because rxy score is 0,576, it is higher than r table 0,361 in5% significance.
