Abstract

This research analyzed the improvement of students' speaking ability through"everyone is a teacher here" method. The objectives of the research are to find theimprovement of students' speaking ability who are taught using "Everyone is ateacher here" method, to know the situation of teaching and learning when"Everyone is a teacher here" method is implemented in speaking class, and to findout the strengths and weaknesses of the using "Everyone is a teacher here"method in speaking class. The methodology of research is classroom actionresearch. To find out the improvement of students' speaking ability the researcherused pre test and post test and t-test to know the significance of hypothesis. Sheused three cycles, in each cycle comprised of one meeting and each meetingconsist of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research showed thatthe students involved actively in teaching learning process, they more encouragesand confident to speak English than before, there are the strengths and theweaknesses of "Everyone is a teacher here" method. The result of this research isthere is an improvement of students' speaking ability by using "Everyone is ateacher here" method. It can be seen from the mean score of pre test and post test.In cycle 1 post test is higher than pre test: 16,94 > 12,69, t-test: 6,72. In cycle 2:21,31 > 15,34, t-test: 10,34. In cycle3: 21,5 > 19,78, t-test: 2,11. Then, the resultoft-test calculation in cycle 1, 2, and 3 is greater that Hable with N= 31 is 2,042.This indicated that by applying "Everyone is a teacher here" method has improved.
