Abstract

The benefits from this research is to know theappropriate method in learning grammar in the third Year Students of SMKDiponegoro Salatiga in the Academic Year of 2009/2010. Thats the main point ofthis research. With the reason that grammar in general and conditional sentence inspecific terms is very important for student. It uses in daily activities and thissubject included as one of final exam subject. To gets the data for writing downthis thesis the writer applied several methods and can be divide for three typesthere are: document study, field research, and statistical methods Based on appliedseveral methods above the researcher discovered the result that: (1) The averagescore reading comprehension achievement of SMK Diponegoro Salatiga beforeusing those methods are 60, and after using inductive method is 73,5. (2) Basedon the result of I-test analysis shows 2, 76. Then it is compared with the figure onthe t-table with 5% of significance in degree of freedom .29 shows 2,045. Becausethe t-test (t-empiric) value is higher than t-table (t-theoretic) value so summarizingEnglish text to students will have significant influence toward students in readingcomprehension achievement. (3) Based on the data which received, one of thesuitable ways toward grammar mastery of SMK Diponegoro Salatiga in theAcademic Year of 2009/2010 is Inductive Method or Communicative LanguageTeaching.
