Abstract
The purpose of this study was to describe the dominant errors of futureperfect tense and the kinds of grammatical errors made by studentsjoining structure class in first semester ST ATN Salatiga. This study isincluded in descriptive quantitative research because by statistical datamethod can explore the students' errors on the use of future perfect tensein first semester of STAIN Salatiga. This study was also intended to givesome contributions regarding the sources of error on the use of FuturePerfect Tense. The writer had chosen the First Semester STAIN Salatigain Academic Year of2013/2014 and with 40 students as the subjects. Thedata were analyzed by using error analysis method. The error types wereclassified based on three kinds of errors. The result of this study showedthat there were three kinds of errors such as errors of pattern, error ofverb III and error of omission. The writer concluded that the students stillmade grammatical errors where the most dominant errors students madeare error of pattern with a total of238 or 75,56%. Meanwhile, the sourcesof error are overgeneralization, ignorance of rule restrictions, incompleteapplication of rule and false concepts hypothesized. The most dominantsource or error are false concepts hypothesized with a total of I 03 or57,39% of occurrences.
