Abstract

Ramadhani Mimma. 2020. The Effectiveness of Using Kahoot! Application to Teach Compound Words in English Club Students of SMK Negeri 2 Salatiga. IAIN Salatiga, Academic year 2020/2021. A graduating paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies of Salatiga. Counselor: Nur Muthmainnah, M.Pd. The aims of this study are: (1) To find out the difference between students’ compound words mastery before and after teaching by using Kahoot! Application, (2)To find out whether Kahoot! Application is effective in teaching Compound Word or not. This research was pre-experimetal research. The techniques of collecting data used test. There were two tests that used in the research, which are pre-test and post-test. Post-test was tested after treatment. The test included pre-test and post-test that consisted of 20 multiple choice questions.The subject of this research is English Club Students at SMK Negeri 2 Salatiga. It involved 20 members. The data was analyzed using t-test formula by comparing the sig2-tailed of the pre-test and post-test used SPSS 24 for windows. The result of this research showed that there was a significant difference between the mean scores of pretest and posttest. The mean score of posttest was higher than the mean score of pretest. (1) the mean score of pretest before the treatment was 36.25 and (2) the mean score of posttest was 84.75. Then, the result of T-test at significance level of 0.05 showed that the significant values (sig-2 tailed) was 0.00 lower than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05). It can be concluded that, the application of Kahoot! Application is effective toteach compound words in English Club Students of SMKN 2 Salatiga. Keywords:Teach,Kahoot! Application, Compound Words
