Abstract

AN ERROR ANALYSIS OF NOMINAL AND VERBAL SENTENCE MASTERY IN STUDENTS’ WRITING OF RECOUNT TEXT (A Qualitative Research at the Tenth Grade Students of SMK Darul Fikr Andong in the Academic Year 2019/2020). Counsellor: Mrs. Sari Famularsih, S.Pd.I., M.A. This research is about an error analysis of nominal and verbal sentence mastery in students’ writing of recount text made by the tenth grade students of SMK Darul Fikr Andong in the academic year 2019/2020. The objectives of this research were to know about the sources of error made by students in writing nominal and verbal sentence and to know the most dominant error of nominal and verbal sentence in writing recount text at the tenth grade students of SMK Darul Fikr Andong in the academic year 2019/2020. The instrument of the research was test, interview and documentation. The research approach was descriptive qualitative method. The result of this research showed that there were nominal sentence errors and verbal sentence errors made by the tenth grade students of SMK Darul Fikr Andong in the academic year 2019/2020 in writing recount text and the source of error was intralingua error especially in false concept of hypothesis and over?generalization. Verbal sentence became the most dominant error in writing recount text made by the tenth grade students of SMK Darul Fikr Andong in the academic year 2019/2020 and the percentages was 72.99% or 100 errors. It was higher than nominal sentence that the error was 37 errors or 27.01%. Keywords: Error, Source of Error, Nominal Sentence, Verbal Sentence Writing, Recount text.
