Abstract

An Analysis of Students Perception on the Use of Lyrics Training Application to Improve Students’ Listening Skills at Sixth Semester Students of IAIN Salatiga in The Academic Year 2019/2020. A Graduating Paper. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. English Education Department. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Setia Rini, M.Pd. The objectives of this research are; to find out students’ perceptions on the use of lyrics training application to improve listening skill, the benefits provided by lyrics training application to support learning activities and the students using lyrics training application to improve listening skill. This research was qualitative research. The data collected by questionnaire 30 students. The participants were the sixth semester students of English Education Department of State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. The findings stated that students had positive perceptions on the use of lyrics training application. They perceived that; lyrics training application is very useful to improve students’ skill in listening and lyrics training application makes teaching and learning process more interesting and easier. The findings also indicated some benefits of lyrics training application to support learning activities. They were; lyrics training supports students in improving listening skill, lyrics training application easy to use and it supports students in improving English skills. The last, students use lyrics training application to improve listening skill. Keywords: Lyrics training application; Qualitative research
