Abstract
ABSTRACT Fadhli, Dzawil, 2020. The use of word wall on padlet to improve vocabulary mastery of the first graders at SMK Al-Ittihad Poncol in Academic Year of 2019/2020. A Graduating Paper. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. English Education Department. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Heru Saputra, M.A. The research is about the use of word wall on padlet to improve vocabulary mastery of the first graders at SMK Al-itthad poncol in the academic year of 2019/2020. The objectives of the research are to know the implementation of word wall on padlet to improve vocabulary mastery and the significant improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery by using word wall on padlet. The method of the research was Classroom Action Research (CAR). There were two cycles; each cycles consisted of four steps, they were planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result of the research shows that the implementation of word wall on padlet to improve vocabulary mastery of the first graders at SMK Al-Ittihad poncol in the academic year of 2019/2020 was successful. It can be seen in table students’ result of pre-test and post-test, students who passed the passing grade improved gradually from cycle I and cycle II. The improvement was showed in pre-test and post-test. The result of the T-test of the cycle I was 4.09 which was higher than the T-table: 2.09 with N-1 and significance level 0,5 and The result of the T-test of the cycle II was 7,94 which was higher than the T-table: 2.09 with N-1 and significance level 0,5. The passing grade of English lesson was 70 and the success indicator was 80%. The outcome of the pre-test of the cycle I was 45% and post-test of the cycle I was 55%. The outcome of the pre-test of the cycle II was 55% and post-test of the cycle II was 85% meanwhile the success indicator is 80% of the total number of the students. The success indicator was achieved, so the researcher stopped the research. Thus, the implementation of word wall on padlet proved that it could significantly improve the students’ vocabulary mastery. Keywords : Word Wall, Padlet, Vocabulary Mastery
