Abstract

Utami, Sri Pami. 2020. An Analysis of Illocutionary Acts on Dr. Dzakir Naik Videos. A Graduating Paper Submitted to the Board of Examiner as a partial fulfillment of the Requirements for Bachelor Degree of Sarjana Pendidikan (S.Pd). State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Councelor: Dr.Sa?adi, M.Ag. The objective of the study is Illocutionary Acts to find the most dominant type and the function of illocutionary acts on Dr. Dzakir Naik?s speech. The object of this research is Dr. Dzakir Naik?s speech relate with illocutionary acts. The methodology of this research was qualitative research, however this study also incorporates with simple quasi quantitative on the form to calculated the number of each dominant type and illocutionary functions. Therefore, qualitative research is applied in this study analyse Illocutionary acts used by Dr. Dzakir Naik?s speech. The technique of collecting data were systematically searching and arranging the interview transcript, field notes, documentation.to finds the most dominant type and illocutionary functions on Dr. Dzakir Naik?s speech. The researcher found that there were 78 utterances from some types of illocutionary acts. She was found that representative (26%) as dominant type from some type they are: representative, directive, commissive, expressive, declarative and 15 illocutionary functions, they are: 19 asserting (26%), 11 concluding (15%), 5 describing (6,8%), 2 questioning (2,7), 5 ordering (6,8%), 4 requesting (5,4%), 1 advising (1,3%), 5 warning (6,8%), 2 offering (2,7%), 3 threatening (4,1%), 6 promissing (8,2%), 4 praising (5,4%), 2 thanking (2,7%), 2 dislike (2,7%), and 2 wishing (2,7%). While, in this research, the most dominant functions is asserting of representative type (26%). Key Words: Illocutionary, speech acts, pragmatic
