Abstract
The research was aimed to know about the teachers’ and the students’ perception in learning English using Google Classroom. The first objective of this research is finding out teachers’ and students’ perceptions in using Google Classroom to learn English and the second objective is finding out teachers’ and students’ problems in using Google Classroom to learn English. The research conducted using descriptive qualitative research. The subjects were 3 English teacher and twenty-nine tenth grade English students among SMK N 1 Tengaran. To obtain the data, the researcher was used questionnaire, interview, and documentation. The data was analyzed and interpreted through qualitative procedure. The findings indicated that the teachers and students had positive perceptions in using Google Classroom to learn English such as they enjoy using Google Classroom in online learning, Google Classroom is an effective online learning platform, Google Classroom makes learning easier, Google Classroom improves students’ enthusiasm in learning English, Google Classroom creates more flexible highly needed for online learning. However, in applying Google Classroom in learning English, there were problems that teachers and students faced. The problems such as Google Classroom does not make communication easier, the notification does not show directly when there is an update, the signal influence the running of the application, and the condition of the device.
