Abstract

The objectives of the study are to know the student’s difficulties in doing English assignment during online class. At the second semester students in SMK DIPONEGORO SALATIGA in the year 2020/2021. The method of this research was qualitative research to collect and analyze the data. This research was conducted to 50 students. The technique of collecting data were interview with the students and teacher and questionnaire to find out the student’s difficulties. The writer finds that the student’s difficulties in doing English assignment during online class with the percentage 72 %. The writer included the student’s difficulties two categories. There are Internal factors and Eksternal factors. Eksternal factors such as the bad signal with the percentage 88%, the activities outside of learning 52%, the media was used is difficult 38%, less face to face in online learning 32 %, the teacher less gives the material 24%, cell phone not support 22%, limited quota 20%, have not smart phone 8 % . internal factors such awareness in doing English assignment is lacking 74%, little vocabulary 72 %, dislike English lesson 66%, lazy to do assignment 64%, student did not understand the material 58%, did not understand the meaning of the question 36%. The ways of students solve their problem such browsing 92%, ask friends about assignment 78%, ask the teacher 54%, ask someone more proficient 44%, borrow someone cell phone 16%, and take lesson 8%.
