Abstract

ABSTRACT Amri, Fauzia Exti H. 2021. The Lecturers' Challenges and Strategies in Teaching English For Specific Purposes (ESP) Through SPADA UNS at Sebelas Maret University. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Setia Rini, M.Pd. This study aims to answer the following research questions: (1) What are the challenges faced by lecturers in teaching English For Specific Purposes (ESP) class through SPADA UNS? (2) What are the lecturers strategies in using SPADA UNS to teach English For Specific Purposes (ESP)?. This research used a qualitative approach, then the data collection techniques using interview and documentation.Lecturers challenges when teaching ESP through SPADA UNS are devided into 3 factors.Challenges faced by lecturers (Lecturer proficiency in managing online class, supporting device), Challenges faced by Students (lack motivation in online learning), Environtment and external factor (signal problems).And the strategies to improve students skill in listening(messages taking, monologues),speaking (telling stories, students presentation),reading (following instruction) and writing (Instant writing), They applied that strategies connected into SPADA UNS to ease their students in learning ESP. keywords: Challenge and Strategy, ESP, Learning Management System,
