Abstract
Wulantika, Fernanda. 2021. An Analysis of Corrective Feedback on Toefl Class During E-Learning System Using Whatsapp Group Discussions. (A Case Study of International Class Program of IAIN Salatiga). A graduating Paper. English Education Department. International Class Program. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Conselor: Miftachudin, S.Pd. I, M.A. The objectives of this study were to know the process of Corrective feedback given by TOEFL lecturers and its benefits for International Class Program students at IAIN Salatiga. The research methodology was a descriptive qualitative study. This research was conducted on July 2021. The author collected the data from documentation of three TOEFL classes in the WhatsApp group, questionnaires for 54 students, and interviews for 3 TOEFL lecturers of the International Class Program at IAIN Salatiga. This research finding is presented descriptively. It was found that the process of giving corrective feedback started from providing the TOEFL questions or materials then continued with class discussions. All lecturers provided corrective feedbacks directly through text messages and voice notes in the WhatsApp group. Meanwhile, the benefits of providing corrective feedback for students are maximizing the learning objectives, strengthening the relationship between lecturer and students, motivating students’ learning TOEFL, making students aware not to repeat the same errors, and confirming students’ understanding and ability.
