Abstract
This study discusses students' errors in writing simple present tense. This study aims to determine the types of errors in writing simple tense and the most dominant errors in writing simple present tense. The methodology that has been used in this study is a qualitative method. Source of data was taken from students of class VIII-B of 17 students in total. The researcher has collected data by using a written test, and the written test has been shared by the researcher in the form of a Google form. The researcher also conducted interviews to obtain more information. To analyzed the data, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive method and respectively summarized the findings. The researcher found three types of errors, namely omission, addition and misordering. Among those errors, the omission appears as the most dominant type of errors as seen from the result of the test; misformation (1 respondent), omission (10 respondents), addition (4 respondents), and misordering (3 respondents).
