This study aimed to find out the level and the factor causing the students’ speaking anxiety in the self-introduction chapter. This study uses the qualitative method. The subject in this study is the seventh grade of Al Masudiyyah Junior High School in the academic year 2021/2022. The data was collected by observation to find out the level. While questionnaire and interview to find out the factor. An interview was conducted to get deeper information that was not available on the questionnaire. The results showed that the level of the students' anxiety is anxious. Based on the checklist observation show that three students were anxious when introducing themself in front of the class. Meanwhile one of them was mildly anxious. According to the questionnaire and interview, various factors influence speaking anxiety. There are at least four factors that were found in this study, there is lack of confidence, fear of making mistakes, lack of familiarity with the task, and environments.
