Abstract
The objectives of the research were to find out English Language Education Department students of International Class Program batch 2018 at IAIN Salatiga practice of self-regulated learning in developing their speaking skills and how English Language Education Department students of International Class Program batch 2018 at IAIN Salatiga evaluate their speaking skills during the practice of self-regulated learning. The research was a desriptive qualitative research. The process of collecting data of this research was carried out by using semi-structured interview. Then, researcher analyzed the data collected by using qualitative and analysis. The results shows that, students had their own practices to develop their speaking skills during self-regulated learning, such as practice speaking in front of the mirror, watching video, listening music, speaking with friends, and using application. All participants stated that the practices mentioned above are very appropriate and effective to improve their speaking skills during self-regulated learning. Besides, there are strategies to evaluate their speaking skills, such as seeking social assistance and self-evaluating. Of the two strategies above, students agreed that these are effective and efficient to evaluate their speaking skills during self-regulated learning. One of the reasons is students can do it anytime and anywhere.
