Abstract

English Education Department. Teachers Training and Education Faculty. State Institute of Islamic Studies (IAIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Mashlihatul Umami,S.Pd.I., M.A. This research is aimed to describe what the teachers’ perceptions, motivations and challenges on Google Classroom implementation in EFL teaching at Vocational High School. This study applies data analysis using qualitative descriptive approach. Data collection techniques used by researcher are by conducting interviews and documentation. The subject of this research are three English teachers at SMK PGRI 2 Salatiga. The results of the research show that, first, teachers’ perceptions of ICT especially on Google Classroom platform during online learning is successful This is supported by all the English teachers who said “yes” in 5/5 interview questions, including the understanding of e-learning and implementation of Google Classroom. Second, teachers’ motivations when using Google Classroom as a tool for diastance learning are easy and simple. On the other hand, in an effort to build a good atmosphere durhing teaching, teachers giving advice,counseling and entertainment by videos and images. Third, challenges faced by English teachers while using Google Classroom include the stability of internet connection and also the discipline of students in participating in each online learning session.
