Abstract

Dwi Laksito Jati. 2023. The Analysis of Teacher’s Language Style Viewed from Cooperative Principle in English Learning (The Study at SMP NU 1 WONOSEGORO in the Academic Year 2022/2023). Graduating Paper. English Education Department of Teacher Training and Education Faculty Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Aprilia Ria Adisti, M.Pd. The reserach concerns on teacher‟s language style in English learning viewed from Grice‟s Cooperative Principle. This research is aim to analyze the type of cooperative principle used by teacher in SMP NU 1 WONOSEGORO; To analyze the most cooperative principle used by teacher in SMP NU 1 WONOSEGORO The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative. The data source is gained through observation, documentation, and interview. The researcher collects the data by transcribing the data that gained before. To analyze the data, the researcher presents the research finding in descriptive qualitative then concludes the findings according to the research question. The researcher found 42 Cooperative principle (Quantity with 10 or 23,80%, Quality 22 or 52,38%, relation 5 or 11,90% and Manner also 5 or 11,90%). Cooperative principle of quality is the most often spoken by the teachers, it‟s appear 22 out of 42 data or 52,38%, the reasons why the cooperative principle of quality most often appears more than others is because the teachers should provide valid details/accurate responses to students‟ questions, the teachers try to avoid being false of her answer, communicate the material or details about the subject to all of the students and give a translation.
