Abstract
Latifah, Khoirrotul. 2022. “The Impact of Online Learning on Students’ Anxiety Level (A Study during Covid-19 Pandemic of English Education Department of the fifth Semester Students at UIN SALATIGA academic year 2021/2022)”. A graduating paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Councelor: Dr. Mashlihatul Umami, M.A. The aims of this research are to know is there any the impact of online learning on students’ anxiety, what are the students’ anxiety level in online learning, and what are the factors which dominate their anxiety in online learning. This research answers three questions as: (1)Is there any impact of online learning on students’ anxiety level of English Education Departement of the fifth semester students at UIN Salatiga Academic Year 2021/2022? (2)What are the students’ anxiety level in online learning of English Education Departement of the fifth semester students at UIN Salatiga Academic Year 2021/2022? (3)What are the factors which dominate students’ anxiety in online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic of English Education Departement of the fifth semester students at UIN Salatiga Academic Year 2021/2022? The data is collected using questionnaire which filled by 25 students and 7 students interviewed. The sample which researcher used is convenience sampling because the researcher difficult to collect the data cause Covid-19 pandemic, that why the researcher collect the data using google form and using convenience sampling. The type of this research is mixed-method. The researcher found that online learning had an impact on students’ anxiety. 2 students feel very anxious in percentage is 8%, 4 students feel severe anxiety in percentage is 16%, 13 students feel moderate anxiety in percentage is 52%, 4 students feel mild anxiety in percentage is 16%, and also 2 person has no anxiety in percentage is 8%. There are two factors that most influence their anxiety, those are internal factor (cognitive and behaviour) and external factors (time management factor, signal factor, and financial factor).
