Abstract

The Effectiveness of Dictogloss Technique to Reduce Writing Anxiety (One Sample Group Research at the Eight Grade Students’ of SMPN 1 Pabelan in the Academic Year 2022/2023). A Graduating Paper. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. English Education Department. Salatiga State Islamic University. Counselor: Dr. Ruwandi, S.Pd., M.A. The objectives of this research are: (1) To find the effectiveness dictogloss technique to reduce students’ writing anxiety at Eight Grade of SMPN 1 Pabelan. (2) To find the significant effect of dictogloss technique to reduce students’ writing anxiety at eight grade of SMPN 1 Pabelan, academic year 2022/2023. This study was comparative and the methodology of this study was one group pre-test post-test design. The sample was of this research was eight grade students that consisted of 33 students chosen through random sampling technique. The technique of the data collecting was test and documentation. There were two tests that used in the research, which are pre-test and post-test. It was analyzed using SPSS Statistic 25.0 windows. Based on the research finding, there was a significant effect dictogloss technique to reduce students’ writing anxiety. The result showed that the post-test score was higher than the pre-test (78.84 > 58.84). It means that there was difference of students’ writing anxiety after they were taught using dictogloss technique. In addition, the t-test value was higher than the t-table value (16.371 > 2.037). It can be concluded that using dictogloss technique is effective to reduce students’writing anxiety. Keyword: dictogloss technique, writing, writing anxiety
