Abstract
Nofiasari, Nehatri. 2023. The Implementation of QARs (Question-Answer Relationship) in Teaching Reading Comprehension for Seventh-Grade Students at SMP N 1 Suruh in the Academic Year 2022/2023. Graduating Paper. English Education Department Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Islamic University (UIN) Salatiga. Counselor: Miftachudin, M.A This study aimed to determine the implementing of QARs and teachers' obstacles in teaching reading comprehension. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Suruh in Suruh Village, Suruh District, Semarang Regency. The subjects of this study were two English teachers in seventh-grade. This research was conducted on 13 June and 23 June 2023. The methodology of this research was qualitative descriptive research. This study used interviews to collect the data. The researcher found: 1) The implementation QARs (Question-Answer Relationship in teaching reading comprehension for seventh grade students. 2) The teacher's obstacles are the teacher's strategies, the low motivation of students in learning English, and students having difficulty with vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation. The students had problems in English because they did not get English classes in elementary school. Key Words : QARs(Question-Answer Relationship), Teaching Reading Comprehension
