Abstract
This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of using a scrapbook as a media for project-based learning in enhancing students' vocabulary mastery in descriptive text at SMP N 3 Getasan. The research utilized both quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods to evaluate the approach's effectiveness in improving students' scores from pre-test to post-test I to post-test II among 26 subjects in the class. The findings indicated that the approach was successful in enhancing the students' vocabulary mastery and increasing their interest in learning. This study provided evidence of the effectiveness of project-based learning with scrapbook media in improving students' vocabulary mastery in descriptive text, with the mean score of the pre-test at around 19.3%. It showed a significant improvement in the mean score of the post-test I, which was around 60%, followed by a post-test II score of 92.3%. This study's findings offered valuable insights for English teachers and other researchers interested in improving vocabulary mastery in descriptive text using project-based learning with scrapbook media.
