Abstract
Karimah, Anisatul. 2023. The Effectiveness Of Using Spelling Bee Game On Students Vocabulary Mastery At SMP Negeri 4 Salatiga In Academic Year 2023/2024. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Islamic University Salatiga. Counselour: Dra. Widyastuti, M.Pd. This study aims to see the effectiveness of the spelling bee game in improving students' mastery of English vocabulary at SMPN 4 Salatiga. To find out whether or not there is a significant difference in mastery between before and after being given a treatment using the spelling bee game. This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental design. The method of data collection is through tests, namely pre-test and post-test and documentation. The analysis technique uses the t-test, which compares the t-test and t-table values. The results of this study explain first, the increase in vocabulary mastery in the experimental class is higher than in the control class based on the average calculation in the experimental class the pre-test value (71.77) is lower than the post-test value (92.00). Second, the effectiveness of spelling bee games in improving vocabulary mastery. The increase is the result of the paired sample test which produces a T-count (51.034 > 2.045) in the experimental class with a significance value (2-tailed) (0.000 < 0.05).
