Abstract

The aims of the research are: (1) To find out students’ vocabulary mastery in Procedure Text without using Wordwall.net website media at Ninth Grade students in SMPN 2 Salatiga. (2) To find out students’ vocabulary mastery in Procedure Text using Wordwall.net website media at Ninth Grade students in SMPN 2 Salatiga. (3) To find out how students’ vocabulary mastery in procedure text between using wordwall.net website without using wordwall.net website media in ninth grade students of SMPN 2 Salatiga. This research used quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design. The subjects of the research were the ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Salatiga in classes IXB which became a controlled class, and IXA which became an experimental class. The result of the data analysis reveals there was difference between the mean score of the pre-test in the experimental class (58.00) and the controlled class (57.80). Meanwhile, the post-test mean result showed the control class got 64.00 and the experimental class got 80.45. This research calculated the effectiveness of wordwall.net used in the experimental class by an independent sample t-test of SPSS software version 26. It showed the effect of using Wordwall.net in the sig. value, which was 2-tailed, was 0.00 < 0.050. The alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, while the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected. Therefore, there is a significant effect on students' vocabulary mastery in procedure text after using the Wordwall.net website. In addition, wordwall.net could stimulate students' motivation to learn a new language with its features, such as game templates, themes, feedback sections, and a leaderboard.
