The Analysis Of Student’S Ability In Translating Indonesian Into English (Mix - Method Study At The Third Semester Students Of English Education Department Of Uin Salatiga In The Academic Year 2021/2022). A Graduating Paper, English Education Department, Teacher Training and Education Faculty, State Institute for Islamic Studies Salatiga. Counselor: Mrs. Sari Famularsih, S. Pd. I., M. A. Translation being offered as a collage subject. In semester 3,4 and 5 semester translation subject are offered to english education departement students. The course are approaches in translating in the semester 3 or 4 and produce of translation/interpretation in semester 5. At the level of students especially in their third semester can be said as a good translator but in reality many previous studies which stated that the results of the third semester students of UIN Salatiga in particular is still low quality of the translation. The purpose of this study is to explain the students ability in translating Indonesian into English and to know the problems faced by students to translating Indonesian into English. Researcher using mixed method, meaning that the data combined quantitative and qualitative analysis, collected the form of words or pictures, not numbers and give score for the test. This study consist of quantitative and qualitative phases, each of which is completed separately before combining quantitative and qualitative findings for more comprehensive understanding of the research question and phenomena. The source of data collection from test by google form . In collecting the data, the researcher took eleven students in English Translation Class. Researcher explanation the test about translating Indonesian Into English to students by google form. Based on the data, researchers observation the students answer, the result of the test carried out by students will devided into 5 points of assessment namely: completely inadequate, inadequate, adequate, almost completely successfull, successful and focus on tenses to get the result. Based on the data display, students’ problem are lexical and gramatical, 45,5% the difficulties faced in translating Indonesian into English is the relevan vocabulary, 54,5% the difficulties are faced by the correct tenses in each sentence. The students solve their problems to continuous practice so must able to master the lexical and grammatical aspect in order to translate english languange properly.
