Counselor: Dr. Ruwandi, S.Pd., M.A. The objectives of this research are: (1) To find out the empirical evidence on the effectiveness of using story pyramid strategy on reading comprehension on recount text of the Eight-Grade Students of SMP N 2 Kabandungan in the Academic Year 2023/2024. (2) To find out the significant effectiveness between the scores of students before using the Story Pyramid strategy and after using the Story Pyramid strategy of the Eight-Grade Students of SMP N 2 Kabandungan Academic Year 2023/2024. This was comparative study and the methodology of this study was one group pre-test post-test design. The sample of this research was the eight grade students that consisted of 32 students chosen through random sampling technique. The technique of the data collecting was test and documentation. There were two tests that used in the research, namely pre-test and post-test. The data was analyzed using SPSS Statistic 26.0 windows. Based on the research finding, there was a significant effectiveness of story pyramid strategy to teach reading comprehension on recount text. The result showed that the post-test score was higher than the mean of pre-test (38.5938 > 73.7500). It mean of that there was difference of students’ reading comprehension after they were taught using story pyramid strategy. In addition, the t-test value was higher than the t-table value (26,666 > 2,040). It can be concluded that using story pyramid strategy is effective to reading comprehension of the eight students of SMPN 2 Kabandungan Sukabumi in the Academic year 2023/2024.
