Abstract
The aims of this study are: (1) to know the difference between students’ present continuous tense mastery before and after being taught using comic strip media at SMP N 1 Bringin, (2) to know whether comic strip media is effective in teaching present continuous or not. This study employed pre-experimental research, utilizing test-based data collection with pre-test and post-test assessments. The research focused on 31 students of XI B at SMP Negeri 1 Bringin, using 15 multiple-choice questions in both tests. The data underwent analysis through the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, comparing the two-tailed significance of pre-test and post-test scores using SPSS 27 for Windows. The findings indicated a significant improvement, with the post-test mean score (93.77) surpassing the pre-test mean score (41.74). The Wilcoxon signed-rank test revealed a significant p-value (0.001 < 0.05), concluding that using comic strips as the teaching medium effectively teaches present continuous tense at SMP N 1 Bringin.
