Abstract
The objectives of this research are to find out the students’ preference and the benefits of video conference for distance learning. This research used qualitative methodology and adopted descriptive analysis. The writer analyzed the data from conducting research. This research was conducted at UIN Salatiga. The subject of this research is 20 respondents’ of english education department in UIN Salatiga who had using google meet and zoom app. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative approach. The data validity is the triangulation technique. Data were collected by open ended questionnaire. The research found that the first From 20 respondent polls, 11 learners choose Google Meet and 9 learners choose Zoom App, It means that the respondents prefer Google Meet more than Zoom App. researcher grouped as the criteria of both video conference there are Duration, load of participants, video quality, security system, and network usage. The benefits of video conference for distance learning of english classes is video conference should have criteria as the media of learning which brings fun, enjoy, and interesting features that can help learners, Video conference should bring positive reviews of user, so that the developer can upgrade the application into more effective and interesting, Increasing the learners’ skill, High flexibility and efficiency in any situation with good signal.
