This research investigated at the English tutor's code-switching and code-mixing on jagobahasa Instagram account. The aims of this study are to: 1) categorize the different types of code-switching and code-mixing in the utterances delivered by the English tutor on jagobahasa Instagram account; and 2) identify the functions of code-switching and code-mixing by the tutor. The main instrument in this study was the researcher, who applied the descriptive qualitative method. The data source was a speech performed by the tutors namely Mr. Dias and Miss Cristin, during the live streaming of the jagobahasa Instagram account on January 27th, 2023 and August 19th, 2022. The types and functions of code-switching and code-mixing by the tutor were analyzed in the data that were transcribed into the script and then examined. From the 283 data analysis, the types of insertions code-mixing found 90 data word, 61 data phrase, 15 data hybrid, 2 data repetition, and 3 data clauses. It showed that word insertion code-mixing is commonly used by the tutor. Meanwhile, data analysis of code-switching performed 51 data of tag-switching, 58 data intra-sentential switching, and 5 data inter-sentential switching. From the data, tag-switching was the most common kind used by the tutor. Furthermore, from the 283 units data analysis, found all the function of code-mixing and code-switching. There were; talking about particular topic 25 data, questioning somebody 2 data, being emphatic 21 data, interjection 51 data, repetition used for clarification 18 data, clarify the speech content for the interlocutor 159 data, expressing group identity 7 data. The most function of code-mixing and code-switching that used by the tutors is the intention of clarify the speech content for the interlocutor. Keywords: Code-switching, Code-Mixing, Instagram.
