Abstract

In the era of Industry 4.0, artificial intelligence (AI) and blockchain have transformed the landscape of the global financial industry. Financial technology (fintech) and Decentralized Finance (DeFi) have proliferated recently. Additionally, a new technology trend has emerged in the past two years, known as the metaverse. There is a strong likelihood that the metaverse will redefine the role of technology in the future of the financial industry (Bhat et al., 2023). The rapid advancement of technology will create a digital financial revolution that will undoubtedly be accompanied by risks, opportunities, and challenges for stakeholders (Kaur et al., 2023). Therefore, it is crucial to understand the characteristics of digital finance that have transformed the evolving economic system today
