Abstract

Iza, Alfina Ainul. 2024. An Analysis Of Students’ Anxiety in Learning English at The English-2 Class (A Case Study at 2nd Semester Students of Sharia Banking Program of Islamic Economics and Business Faculty of Uin Salatiga in Academic Year of 2023/2024. Conselor: Dr. Sari Famularsih, S.Pd.I., M.A. The purpose of this mix research method is to explore and understand the levels and factors of students’ anxiety in learning English of the second semester students of sharia banking program of Islamic economics and business by raising the problem namely, what are the levels of anxiety experienced by the students in learning English and what factors do students’ believe to contribute to their anxiety in learning English. The data was collected by questionnaire and interview. The questionnaire used to find out the levels of anxiety and the interview to find out the factors in conducting students’ anxiety learning English. The result 20 students, of them were are the moderate level of anxiety, 13 students were at Relaxed level, and 7 students were at Mildly Anxious. Relaxed is the highest level at the 2nd semester students of Sharia Banking Program Islamic Economics and Business Faculty of UIN Salatiga. And in the interview result there are various factors may occur contribute to their anxiety. At least three factors were found these lessons, they are: social environment in classroom learning, learner belief about language learning, formal classroom environment.
