Abstract

The Correlation Between Motivation and Curiosity in Learning English with The Mastery of Writing Descriptive Text of The Eleventh Grade Students MA Ma‟arif NU 5 Sekampung in The Academic Year 2021/2022. A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. UIN Salatiga. Counselor: Dr. Ruwandi, M.A This title was taken because we saw that many people or students had difficulty learning English for many reasons. one of them is a lack of motivation. This research aim to determine the correlation between motivation and desire to learn English, and also the relationship between motivation to learn English and writing descriptive texts. research location at MA Ma'arif NU 5 Sekampung. The method used is a quantitative method and uses a questionnaire which was distributed to 31 students, to get the results. using SPSS 25.00. The results of the research show that there is an influence between motivation and curiosity in writing, and also a significant influence between motivation, curiosity, and achievement in writing descriptive text. The suggestion that can be conveyed is that students can solve problems faced during learning and can improve English learning outcomes. for teachers, It is recommended to be able to pay attention, guide, and increase students' curiosity and motivation to learn. and suggestions for other researchers recommended that the results of this research be used as a reference for conducting similar research and be useful for the parties conducting this research.
