Abstract
Ulum, Nasrul, Fariz, 2024. The Use of Quizizz to Increase Student’s Reading Comprehension of Recount Text ( A Classroom Action Research of IX Grade Students at SMPN 10 Salatiga). A Graduating Paper. English Education Department. Teacher Training and Education Faculty. State Islamic University of Salatiga. Counselor: Agung Guritno, M.Pd. The reason why researcher use quizziz in classroom action research is because there are several problem in students reading comprehension skills. Such as difficulty in reading English texts, difficulty in understanding the meaning of the text, and difficulty in understanding the content of the text. Today's school students are also more interested in mobile-based learning. The Objectives of the Study are to find out the increase in students' reading comprehension using Quizizz online learning platform in English subjects on recount text for 9th-grade students at SMPN 10 Salatiga, in the academic year 2024/2025. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR), where each cycle has several steps that include planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. This research was conducted in 2 cycles. The first cycle will be implemented on October 1, 2024, while the second cycle will be implemented on October 7, 2024. There are thirty students in grade 9H at SMPN 10 Salatiga who are the focus of this study. This research uses the Quizizz. The results obtained from this study are an increase in students' reading comprehension skills. In the preliminary study, a pre-test was conducted to determine how far students' reading comprehension skills were, but almost all students did not pass the pre-test. Then in cycle 1, a post-test was conducted to test how much students' reading comprehension skills had increased after being given treatment, but the results obtained had not reached the classical completeness criteria indicator. Therefore, cycle 2 was conducted. The researcher then stopped the study and declared it successful after the results of the cycle 2 post-test reached the classical completeness criteria indicator.
