Abstract
ABSTRACT Ardiyanto, Bagas Aditya Eko. 2024. Teaching Techniques Used by the Teacher at Vocabulary Class (A Study on the Tenth Grade Class of Telekomunikasi Tunas Harapan Vocational High School Tengaran, Semarang in The Academic Year 2023/2024). The objectives of the research were to find out the teaching techniques used by the teachers in teaching vocabulary in the tenth grade of Telekomunikasi Tunas Harapan Vocational High School Tengaran, find out the difficulties faced by the teacher in implementing those techniques, and find out how the teachers solve the problems related to the difficulties faced by teachers when teaching vocabulary at the tenth grade of Telekomunikasi Tunas Harapan Vocational High School. This research used a descriptive qualitative method. The technique of collecting data was obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation. This research was conducted at Telekomunikasi Tunas Harapan Vocational High School. The subjects of this research were two English teachers in the tenth grade at Telekomunikasi Tunas Harapan Vocational High School Tengaran. The results of the study found that there were two techniques used by the teacher, the first is the teacher asking students to takes the record, and the teacher teaches vocabulary using the game. After getting a new vocabulary, the students could add the word to their vocabulary notebook. Meanwhile, teaching vocabulary using games helps and encourages many learners to sustain their interest in work. In this research, the researcher also found out the obstacles faced by the teachers in implementing those techniques, namely: lack of learning motivation, differences in students' characteristics, students are not confident, and the teachers only having limited teaching time. The last is the teacher's ways to solve their obstacle in implementing those techniques, namely: creating a structured lesson plan, implementing different learning instructions, building up the appropriate style of communication with the students, give additional tasks for the students. In addition, the teacher can discuss with other English teachers, and give motivation to students. Keywords: Teaching Techniques, Vocabulary.
